Video: Wildlife Around Lake Q, FOLQ’s 2024 Annual Meeting
7/1/2024
The Friends of Lake Quannapowitt invited all community members to join us at our Annual Meeting and Dinner at Bear Hill Golf Club in Stoneham on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024. Guests enjoyed dinner and participated in the business meeting, followed by an educational presentation and discussion.
This year’s educational presentation featured two experts in their field. James Joyce from the Friends of Horn Pond in Woburn explained the group’s important work in limiting wildlife injuries and fatalities from left behind shoreline fishing line, lures and hooks, and offered advice for starting fishing line recycling in Wakefield.
In addition, Wakefield resident and professional photographer Carin MacNamara discussed the changing nature of our local wildlife populations, including her story of two Bald Eagles she has followed for eight years in Wakefield. Her poignant, gorgeous photography will be on display.
WCAT was on hand to record the presentation, which you can watch below. We highly recommend it!
We sincerely thank everyone who joined us for this inspirational evening. Your attendance helps us achieve our mission of educating and informing the public about the protection and enhancement of Lake Quannapowitt and its surrounding environment.
