Please Attend: Public Info Sessions for Proposed Wetlands Bylaw

The Town of Wakefield Conservation Commission has scheduled four upcoming info sessions to review their proposed Wetlands Bylaw. The public is encouraged to attend to learn more about the proposed Bylaw, ask questions, and provide feedback. The community can join the discussion on September 23, September 30, October 14, and October 28. All meetings are virtual and will be held at 7 p.m. via Zoom. (links below)

The purpose of this proposed Bylaw is to protect the wetlands, water resources, and contiguous land areas of the Town of Wakefield by controlling activities deemed to have a significant effect upon wetland values, including but not limited to the following:
  • public or private water supply
  • groundwater
  • flood control
  • erosion and sedimentation control
  • storm damage prevention
  • water quality
  • water pollution control
  • fisheries, wildlife, wildlife habitat
  • recreation
  • rare species habitat, including rare plant and animal species.
