Meet FOLQ Water Quality Volunteer David Miller

5/14/2026

David Miller is an FOLQ associate board member and member of the Water Quality Committee. David began volunteering for FOLQ in 2022, and it was clear from the start that he would be a valuable addition to our community. With a PhD in chemical engineering and a genuine passion for protecting Lake Quannapowitt, David quickly brought both expertise and enthusiasm to our work.

David is an associate board member and an active member of the Water Quality Committee, where he has helped lead the revitalized testing program launched in 2023. Under his guidance, the committee monitors nutrient levels (nitrogen and phosphorus), cyanobacteria and toxins, water clarity, and other critical indicators.

Whether he’s out on the lake collecting samples in his waders, ensuring water quality results are accurately shared with the Town and Board of Health, or supporting presentations to the board, David’s dedication is evident. He has strengthened the program by incorporating drone technology, conducting watershed assessments, attending professional conferences, and investing in personal equipment to support sampling efforts.

FOLQ is deeply grateful for David’s time, energy, and commitment. His passion and hands-on approach continue to make a meaningful difference in our shared mission to protect and improve the health of Lake Quannapowitt.
