Annual Business Meeting June 1, 2022

On Wednesday June 1, 2022, the Friends of Lake Quannapowitt Board of Directors welcomed members, guests and local and state politicians to their goose program presentation. It was held at Bear Hill Golf Club in Stoneham MA. and marked their first annual meeting in two years with in-person attendees. President Margaret Coppe welcomed all to a delightful cocktail hour and dinner before calling the meeting to order to conduct organizational matters. At the conclusion of the meeting it was followed by a slide presentation by Dennis Fazio who serves as the Cemetery, Forestry and Parks Division Supervisor for the Town of Wakefield. In this capacity he manages cemetery grounds, over one hundred acres of parks, and all the public trees within the community and he plays an important role in preserving and enhancing the outdoor space of his community. His well received presentation focused on the Town’s historic and current goose preventions activities but he also answered questions on a wide range of topics from interested attendees. The video presentation is available courtesy of Wakefield Community Access Television at this link and it will also air on WCAT.
